Gary Wayne Davis beloved Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend passed away at Parkview Regional Hospital on March 17, 2021 at the age of 71.

Gary was born on October 1, 1949 in Lampasas, Texas to John and Ivy Davis. On September 2, 1972, he married his wife of 48 years, Annette Jacobs Davis. They lived in many towns in Texas as they traveled around, with family, to work shutdowns. In 1979, Gary settled down in Coolidge, Texas with his family so his children could attend school.  At this time, he went to work at Big Brown in Fairfield, Texas. He worked there for twenty-five years. He, then, left Big Brown to go to work at Coolidge ISD as Head of the Maintenance Department. After ten plus years at Coolidge ISD, he went to work at ETMC in Fairfield in Maintenance. After five plus years of service at ETMC, he retired.

Gary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coolidge, Texas. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department when his children were younger. He coached his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in baseball and was continually active in all their lives. He attended as many of their activities as he could.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ivy Davis; two brothers: John “Bucket” Davis and James “Jimmy” Davis; and his sister, Melba Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Jacobs Davis, children; Terri Davis Shirley and husband, Bob, and Ricky Davis all of Coolidge, Texas, Genia Davis Bostian and husband, C. L. of Mildred, Texas; grandchildren; Kali Shirley Ivester and husband, John of Coolidge, Texas,  Trace Shirley and wife, Cassie, Kelbi Shirley Frisby and husband, Christoper all of Groesbeck, Texas, Clayton Davis and wife, Samantha of Palmer, Texas, Mathew Bostian of Coolidge, Texas, Coy Bostian of Mildred, Texas; twelve great grandchildren; sisters. Wanda Tompkins of Sour Lake, Texas, Vicki McFerrin and husband, Terry Wayne of Streetman, Texas, and Inetta Von Minden of Groesbeck, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, who all loved him very much.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the Coolidge Cemetery Chapel.
