Gary Koester

Mr. Gary Wayne Koester, 59, of Forest Glade passed away February 11, 2009 in Mexia. Funeral services for Mr. Koester will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Mexia with interment to follow in the Forest Glade Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 PM Thursday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Gary Wayne Koester was born to Harold and Mildred Becker Koester in Mart, Texas on November 1, 1949. He graduated from Mart High School in 1968 and Sam Houston State in 1973. He has been a resident of the Mexia and Forest Glade area 33 years. Mr. Koester has served as Chief Juvenile Probation Officer for the 77th & 87th Judicial District for both Limestone and Freestone County for 36 years. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Mexia. Gary was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Frances Koester of Mexia; a son, Christopher Kyle Koester and wife, Kayla of Lexington; two grandchildren, Addyson Kate and Jackson Blake Koester of Lexington; his mother, Mildred Becker Koester of Mart; a brother, Dennis Koester and wife, Teresa of Waco. Pallbearers will be Brian Swick, Gary Lancaster, Ken Harris, Joe Berg, Hoppy McGilvary, David Drummond, Paul Francis and Gary Dyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Wegwerth, Randy Wegwerth, Mike Denton, Bobby Lebkowsky, Phillip Mott and Brad Phillips.
