George Whit Peoples

George Whit Peoples, 76, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on June 14, 1947, in Dallas, Texas. George, a beloved father, brother, and grandfather, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
 
George loved his family more than anything and was known for his warm personality and sense of humor. He enjoyed engaging in conversations and making people laugh. George had a special fondness for cats, and his current companion, Henry, brought him immense joy.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Bowen, and her husband Brandon Bowen; his son, Jason Peoples, and his wife Jen Peoples; his sister, Nancy Buford; his grandchildren, Chad Peoples, Ian Bowen, Madeline Peoples, and Liam Peoples; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Peoples; his mother, Nannie B. Peoples; his grandparents; and his aunts and uncles.
 
After graduating from Highland Park High School, George served in the Army from 1968 to 1975. His dedication and commitment to his military service were commendable, and he will forever be honored for his service to his country.
 
A memorial service to celebrate George's life will be held on January 27 at 11:30 AM at the Blair-Stubbs chapel in Mexia, Texas. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
 
George Whit Peoples will be remembered for his love for his family, his sense of humor, and his dedication to his country. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
