Georgia Mae Hartnett was born September 25, 1916 in Thornton to Luther Welch Bates and Lillie Mae Herring Bates and went to be with the Lord December 14, 2012 in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel Ray Hartnett, her parents, and by four brothers and one sister. Georgia is survived by her daughter, Anita Hartnett of Dallas, Son, George Hartnett and wife Bonnie of Magnolia, Texas, grandchildren, Brian Christopher Hartnett and Angela Renee Alvarez, great grandson, Nicholas Ray Alvarez and by her sister, Edna Louise Hale of Spring, Texas. Georgia was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, embrodery, cooking, games, dancing and all types of music. She had been active in the PTA in the past and had also been a Sunday School teacher of the Baptist Church were she was a member. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening (Dec. 17th), from 6 to 8 PM at the Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. Funeral services will be Tuesday(Dec. 18th), at 11 AM at the Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton with the Reverend Michael Vestal officiating. Interment will follow in the Thornton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's association or to M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
