Glenda Gayle Teel, 59, of Mexia passed away November 5, 2009 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, November 9, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Rick Gray and Rev. Marcus Sheffield will officiate with interment to follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Sunday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Glenda was born July 26, 1950 in Mexia, Texas to Raymond and Juanita (Bradley) Sterling. She has lived in Mexia all her life. Glenda was a 1968 graduate of Mexia High School. She was a retired switchboard operator of the Mexia State School. Glenda was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Glenda is survived by her soulmate and husband, Joe Teel of Mexia, daughter, Debra Threat of Mexia; son, Wayne Nichols and wife, Donna of Mexia; step-children, Jennie Fortson and husband, James of Pt. Enterprise, Bobby Teel and wife, Adelia of Richmond and Kyle Teel; grandchildren, Devin, Taylor and Dustin Threat and Britany and Caty Nichols; step-grandchildren, Randi, Jamie and Brady Fortson and Hunter Teel, Ollie, Gage, Jay and Elizabeth Hicks. Pallbearers will be Dennis Bundy, Shane Threat, Devin Threat, Lynn Barker, Billy Bruce and Fred Samford. Honorary pallbearers will be Ollie Hicks and Taylor Threat.
