Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Jean Hancock, 65, of Mexia will be 2 p.m. Friday March 2, 2007 in First United Methodist Church in Mexia with interment following in Mexia Cemetery. Rev. Brad Brittain will officiate. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday night at Blair - Stubbs. Mrs. Hancock was born September 2, 1941 in Waco to James Wesley Wilburn, Sr. and Maxine Clay Wilburn and passed away on February 27, 2007 in a Waco hospital. She was an educator, working in public schools in Mexia and Mesquite for 30 years As classroom teacher, diagnostician, and counselor. She loved to travel and loved Genealogy. Photography, and was a voracious reader. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mexia. She is survived by her husband, Warner D. Hancock of Mexia, daughters and sons in law, Lisa and Joey Cherry and Donna and James Feverston, all of Mexia; grandchildren, Jake Cherry and Trenton Feverston; sister, Darlene Moore and husband, Bob of Burleson, Brother, Jim Wilburn of Dallas, and nieces and nephews, Matthew, Libby, Michael, Mark, Bethany, Laura and Jeffrey, 11 great nieces and nephews and all her critters. She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Trey Feverston in 1998. Pallbearers will be Matthew Moore, Mark Moore, Jeffrey Moore, Andy Hunter, Kennon Weaver, and Jake Cherry. Honorary pallbearer will be Trenton Dean Feverston.
