Gloria Jean (Meme) Murphey Hobbs, 67, of Mexia went to be with her Lord after a long battle on February 18, 2010 in Waco, Texas. A Memorial Service will be 3 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God. Rev. David Bolden will officiate. Gloria was born November 19, 1942 in Groesbeck, Texas to John and Irene (Isbell) Murphey. She moved to Forest Glade in 1954. Gloria was a 1961 graduate of Mexia High School and attended Tarrant County Jr. College for two years. Gloria was a caregiver for many people during her lifetime. She was a very devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister; the love of her children's lives. Gloria was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Gloria. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Lisa Sadler of Mexia; sons, Brent Hobbs and wife, LaDonna of Mexia, Timothy Sadler and wife, Lisa of Mexia, and Kip Hobbs and wife, Cristi of Alvardo; grandchildren, T. J. Sadler of Mexia, Christina Shores of Alvarado, Suzi Sadler of Mexia, Sissy Sadler of Mexia and Jake Hobbs of Alvarado; brothers, Bobby Murphey of Mexia and John Murphey and wife, Woody Ann of Oletha; one niece and numerous nephews. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.
