Glynn Gafford, 61, of Mexia went to heaven to be with his Heavenly Father on April 4, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 in Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia. Rev. Steve Henderson will officiate with interment to follow in Sardis Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Mr. Gafford was born on January 23, 1945 in Centerville, Texas to Frank Abner and Eula Mae Overcash Gafford and passed away in a Waco Hospital on April 4, 2006. He graduated from Centerville High School and was a farmer/rancher, and member of a non-demonimational church. He married his childhood sweetheart, Mary Hastings, in 1963. He was a loving husband and father and really loved his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed his pecan trees and visiting with friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Gafford and a brother, J. D. Gafford. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Hastings Gafford; son, Gregory G. Gafford of Mexia; daughter and son in law: Vicki L. Duncan-Ruiz and husband Johnny G. Ruiz of Mexia; mother, Eula Mae Slatter of Jewett, grand-children : Courtney Duncan, Haleigh Jordan Ruiz and John-Caleb Ruiz; sister: Judy Hastings and husband, Joe of Jewett and brother, Ronnie Gafford and wife, Janie of Jewett. Pallbearers will be Eddie Chrisner, Milton Carroll, James Jackson , Lloyd Leach, Jimmie Van Winkle and Mike Rusanek.
