Harold Ray Gossett

Harold Ray Gossett, 74, of Mexia, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.  Harold was born March 31, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Harold and Hazel Booth Gossett.

Harold married Deborah Sue Fithian on November 1, 1967 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  They had made Mexia their home for the last 31 years.  He is remembered by his family as a good hard worker who provided well for his household.  Over the years, Harold worked as a painter, mechanic, and roofer.

In his spare time, Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also liked to plant trees and watch them grow.  Spending time with his family also gave him a great deal of pleasure.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lesa Gossett; son, Harold Ray Gossett, Jr.; sisters, Peggy Jones, Patricia Price, Ruby Price, Betty  Sue Davis and brother, Charles Gossett.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Sue Gossett of Mexia; daughters, Tammy Gossett and Nancy Houston both of Mexia; granddaughters, Ashley Glover, Krystine Houston, and Tiffany Houston, grandson, Nicholas Houston; sister, Nancy Smith; and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 3 to 5 PM.
