Henrietta Fleming Shumate, 71, of Mexia passed away on September 12, 2010 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Henrietta was born February 6, 1939 in Mexia, Texas to Henry Fleming and Ruth (Cain) Fleming West. She was a 1957 graduate of Mexia High School. Henrietta owned and operated a children's clothing business in Mexia for many years. Later, she received a degree in real estate and opened a Real Estate office. Henrietta cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She loved her Lord and church family. Henrietta was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Ross Lide; sister, Yvonne Forrest; and brother, Buddy Fleming. Henrietta is survived by her sons, Ricky Lide and wife, Vanessa and Rusty Lide all of Mexia; daughter, Sharon Sanders and husband, Ricky of Mexia; grandchildren, Rebecca Lide Stevens, Ross and Kelly Lide, Lauren York and husband, John, Rick Sanders and wife, Raquel, Hallie and Reid Sanders; great-grandchildren, Aubra, Nolan and Ty and Bryce Lide; sister, Carrie Jones and husband, Bill of Denton; brother, William Fleming and wife, Marva of Washington; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John York, Ross Lide, Rick Sanders, Reid Sanders, Roy Don Fleming and Jerry Fleming. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mexia.
