Huey was born October 28, 1951 in Newton, Texas to Huey Pierce and Elva LaVerne (Hudson) McFetridge. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. On December 16, 1976, Huey married his lifelong partner, Margaret Annette Wisdom, in Orange, Texas. He worked as a pipefitter for the Local Union 529 in Waco, Texas, retiring after 20 plus years of service.
Huey and Margaret were blessed with four children, 12 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. His life revolved around his family and his goal was to love and support them to the best of his ability. He was a hard worker. Huey dearly loved his wife and let her know how blessed he was to have her. His love for his children was great but it just grew stronger as the grandchildren and great grandchildren came along. “Pop” as he was affectionately known, cherished his grands and his greatest joy was spending time with them.
Huey was also a music lover. Although he never had a lesson, he thoroughly enjoyed playing the guitar and drums, he played strictly by ear. He was also a car enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Elva McFetridge.
Huey is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret McFetridge; children, Becky Goolsby and husband, Curtis, Michael McFetridge and wife, Militzy, Huey “Trey” McFetridge. III and partner Crystal; and Michelle Morehead and husband, Mathew; grandchildren, Christopher Goolsby, Brandon Goolsby, Talitha McFetridge, Jhett Mc Fetridge, Kadence McFetridge, Nicolai McFetridge, Aaron McFetridge, Chelsea McFetridge, Shyanne McFetridge, Adrianna Morehead, Madison Morehead, and Mathew Morehead; seven great grandchildren, Mollie Jo, Kaison, Nathaniel, Jorge, Alianna, Keegan and Robert; sister, Trudy Coulter; and many nieces and nephews.
