Iris Annette McMahon

Iris Annette McMahon, of Groesbeck, passed away on February 28, 2025 in Waco, Texas at the age of 83. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Watson officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery near Jewett, Texas. Clayton Brown, Randel Brown, Mark Roberts, Frog Roberts, Daniel Collins, and Peter Samford will serve as pallbearers.

Iris was born on May 22, 1941 in a community that was once known as Thief Neck in Limestone County, Texas to A. O. and Emma (Grissett) Roberts. She was employed as a clerk for Walmart for several years.

Iris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family was her priority in life, especially, the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved nothing more than visits with her grands and took advantage of that time to spoil them as much as possible, then send them home which is what grandmother’s do best!

In her quiet time, Iris enjoyed reading, watching old westerns, crocheting, and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A. O. And Emma Roberts; husband, Harold McMahon; and brothers, Donnie Reece Roberts and Bill Roberts.

Iris is survived by two sons, Randel Brown and Clayton Brown and wife, Tracey; grandchildren, Elizabeth Brown Briggs, Brandy Campbell, Chelsea Colin; several great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
