Ivan Jack Ward, 69, of Coolidge, passed away October 13, 2014 in Burleson, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Coolidge with Rev. Charles Kimble and Rev. Robert Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Ivan was born November 4, 1944 in Waco, Texas to Roy Jack and Mildred Elizabeth Mayes Ward. He graduated from Coolidge High School in 1963 and entered Sam Houston State University where he received his BS in Agriculture. Ivan was a farmer and rancher for the majority of his life. He, also, owned a construction business and a feed lot for several years. Ivan was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting skeet, reloading shot gun shells, but his greatest passion was roping. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred Ward; sister, Amanda Elizabeth Ward; and an infant brother. Ivan is survived by two sons, Ivan Jack Ward, Jr. and wife, Ann of Hubbard and James Roy "Jim" Ward and wife, Jennifer of Magnolia; four grandchildren, Jackson Davis Ward, Rebecca Elizabeth Ward, James Grant Ward and Katheryn Grace Ward; brother William Roy "Bill" Ward of Mexia; sister, Amelia Jo Ward Davison of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Pat Moody, Mark Hancock, Don Henderson, Zane Ward, Wilmer "Bill" Ward and Rusty Lide. Honorary pallbearers will be Doyle Holman and Floyd "Sonny" Moore. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations may be made to Blair-Stubbs, Inc. for funeral expenses.
