Funeral services for Jack Welton Robinson, 89, of Kosse will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia. Rev. Brad Brittain will officiate with interment to follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Centerville, Tx. Visitation with the family will be 6-7:30 p.m. Friday night at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. Mr. Robinson, also known as JW, was born October 28, 1918 in Centerville to William Bryan and Ouida Pearl (Ward) Robinson and passed away in Temple, Texas. He was a graduate of Centerville High School, Class of 1935, graduated the University of Texas of Austin and was a Fulbright Scholar. He retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years. He received the Bronze Star and was a Pearl Harbor survivor and received the Purple Heart. He taught school for years at Castle Park High School, Chula Vista, California. He was a longtime resident of Kosse. He was a member of the Texas Exes and the Grand Lodge of Texas A. F. & A. M. Eutaw 233 of Kosse. Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Hazel Robinson; sons: Larry Robinson and wife, Lynn, Michael Robinson and wife, Mary Ann, and William Robinson and wife, Kathleen; sisters: Lyndall Hale, Lillian Pierce, Ruth Pierce and husband, Harold; brother: Stanley Robinson and wife, Rosie, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
