In Remembrance of Jack Owen Tucker Dr. Jack Tucker of Houston, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Dr. Tucker was surrounded by family, friends, and patients who loved him dearly. The love he bestowed on his wife of 66 years, is cherished by Doris. Jack was born to Joseph Allen Tucker and Izora Wood on April 4, 1928 in Throckmorton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joseph Stuben Tucker, Dustin Tucker, and Derwood Carl Tucker. He is survived by his wife the former Doris P. Campell, brother Don H. Tucker, Ph.D. of Salt Lake City, Utah; and many nieces and nephews. Jack proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1949. Upon leaving the Air Force he enrolled in West Texas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1955. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1959. Dr. Tucker enjoyed teaching at the Dental School for two years before entering full time General Practice in 1961. His post doctoral studies included 4,000 hours and four fellowships. Dr. Tucker attended Hilltop Chapel, worked with the Lions Club of Hilltop Lakes, and supported various other charities. Jack loved to travel with his wife Doris, fellowship with his hunting buddies and was a patron of the Arts. Graveside services interment will be 1:30 PM, Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas.
