James Robert Hart, 63, formerly of Thornton, passed away July 1, 2014 in Waco, Texas. Graveside services, with military honors, will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 4, 2014 in the Thornton Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 3-8 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. James was born February 16, 1951 in Indiana to Thomas Joseph and Betty Susan Craig Hart. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army for 10 years. While serving, he earned numerous medals, including, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/DVC 6, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry W/Palm, Good Conduct Medal (2D) and the Bronze Star Medal. James retired from the Providence Park Maintenance Department. He had a big heart, was a hard worker and cherished his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. James is survived by his wife, Chery Hart; children, Jessica Ann Crumpton and Steffanie Faye Hart, Steven Patrick Lambright and Katy Lynn Cooper; grandchildren, Kursten Renee Crumpton, Christopher Douglas Hargrove and Jayla McKinley Scott; great-grandson, Austin DeAndre Crumpton; sister, Patricia Ann Nelson; and brothers, Joseph and Thomas Hart.
