James Wesley "Wes" Williams, Jr., 7, of Mexia grew into an angel, sprouted his wings and went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2009. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Marcus Sheffield will officiate with interment to follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Thursday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Wes was born November 20, 2001 in Mexia, Texas to James Wesley and Christon Denise (Dabney) Williams, Sr. He was a student at McBay Elementary where he had just completed his kindergarten year. He made many friends. Wes was preceded in death by his grandfather, John W. Williams, Sr. He is survived by his parents, James and Christon Williams, Sr. of Mexia; sister, Kayla Marie Williams of Mexia; brother, Michael Gage Williams of Mexia; maternal grandparents, Tim and LaDonna Cantrell of Kirven; paternal grandparents, Burt and Ruby Mains of Treece, Ks; great-grandparents, Carolyn Dabney of Mexia, Bertha Crabtree of Quapaw, Ok., James Dabney, Sr. of Mexia and Mildred Cantrell of Kirven; aunts and uncles, Amber and John Ellis of Mexia, Amy and J. R. Carey of Andrews, Connie and Jim Turner of Wyandotte, Ok., Donna and Jay Brown of Webb City, Mo., Heather and Tony Kilgore of Teague, Brad Kennedy of Mexia, John W. Williams, Jr. of Joplin, Mo., Denise Bishop of Joplin, Mo., Mary Forsythe of Joplin, Mo., Scott and Eunice Kennedy of Mexia, Sharon and Mike West of Sperry, Ok. and Tommy and Jenniffer Williams of Webb City, Mo.; and numerous cousins.
