Funeral services for James Moore Van Winkle, 84 of Shiloh will be held on Thursday December 1, 2005 at 11 a.m. in Blair - Stubbs Chapel with interment to follow in Pt. Enterprise Cemetery. Maurice Hinchliffe and Mike Moseley will officiate. Visitation with the family will be 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home. Mr. Van Winkle was born on October 20, 1921 in Shiloh and passed away on November 28, 2005 at his residence. He was a retired farmer, attended the Primitive Baptist Church and a lifetime member of VFW. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in European Theater of Operations and was in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle Of the Bulge. He lived most all of his life in this area. He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: John Richard Van Winkle and Mollie Moore Van Winkle: Brothers and sisters: Harrison Van Winkle, J. R. Van Winkle, Jack Van Winkle, Jesse Van Winkle, Woodrow Van Winkle, Mary Oneita Padgett, Josie Morrisette, Beulah Van Winkle, Louis Van Winkle, Lois Van Winkle and Eulah McKinnon.
