Jean is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Bishop and husband Bob Bishop; by her son, Mark Wright and wife Pat Wright; grandchildren, Dr. Micah Bishop and wife Dr. Aubrey Bishop, Jaime Thornton and husband Dr. Matt Thornton, Seth Wright and fiancé Kari Thornton, and Sara Rodgers; one great-grandson, Harrison Rodgers. Jean was born October 10, 1919 in Thornton, Texas to parents Clovis and Ellen Aman. She grew up in the community until she moved to Mexia, Texas where she met her husband Andrew. They were married on June 1, 1940, and she remained in Mexia working at The Mexia Daily News as a Typesetter and nanny while Andrew served in World War II. They moved to Pasadena, Texas in 1946, where Andrew began working at Champion Paper International. Their daughter Phyllis was born on February 7, 1947 and their son Mark was born December 25, 1952. They were active members of the "old" South Main Baptist Church, with Dr. L. D. Morgan as Pastor. They moved to First Baptist Church in 1954 starting out worshiping at Southmore Junior High until they moved to the new building in April of 1955. April of 1958, Andrew was ordained as a Deacon. Jean was Sunday School director of Primary Dept. and taught junior-aged Sunday School many years- served as WMU president; various committees, Senior Adult Sunday School associate director with John Kimmel for 31 years. She remained faithful to her church and serving her Lord until her death on August 13, 2014. Jean was also a member of The Daughter's of the American Revolution. Jean's family would like to give a very special Thank You to her caregiver of three years, Sue Ann Perry. A Celebration of her Life was held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Pasadena. A second Celebration of her Life was held in Mexia, Texas with interment at Pt. Enterprise Cemetery, Mexia, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church's missions or building program.
