Jerry was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, brother and friend. His life revolved around his family, and they knew if there was a problem or need, he was always there with open arms to help them take care of the situation. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandkids, two of which Jerry and Shirley raised together.

He loved his Lord and Savior. He loved his wife dearly. He also had a big heart when it came to animals. Especially his dogs, Bo & Luke, who will surely miss him. Whenever time allowed, he enjoyed hunting and watching football. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed watching the game with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JC and Dorothy Ray; and brother, Larry Wayne Ray.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley Ray; children, Stephanie Ray & wife Melanie, Lucillia (James) Mercer, Jonathan McElhaney (Ray), Richard McElhaney, and Randall McElhaney; grandchildren, Madison, Caleb, Skyler, Layla, Jacob, Lilly, Gavin, Adison, Braxton, Jeremiah, Raylee, Saddie, Mariah, and Daylan who is expected to arrive soon. Brothers, JC Ray, Jr. and Roger Dale Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry’s family are all devasted by the sudden loss. He was the soul provider of his wife and granddaughters. Shirley is not prepared for the cost of a funeral service. Jerry’s family would like to ask, in lieu of flowers, to please give anything they can to help his family. Any assistance to help with temporary support for bills and groceries would be greatly appreciated.
