Jessie Cobbs, Jr., 79, of Robinson passed away August 20, 2008 at his home. Memorial services will be at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008, with Dr. Jimmy Dorrell of Waco and Rev. Gaylon Henry of Ft. Worth officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Prairie Baptist Church Cemetery in Groesbeck. Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 6pm-8pm at the funeral home. Jessie was born June 24, 1929 in Groesbeck, Texas to Jessie Boyce and Alice Sandifer Cobbs. He graduated from Groesbeck High School and served in the United States Air Force, the majority of that time in Panama. After technical school, he became a self employed businessman in retail, wholesale, and real estate developing. He was married to May Beth Masters of Mexia for 53 years, and they lived in Waco for 45 years before recently moving to Robinson. Survivors include his wife, May Beth of Robinson; son, Terry Cobbs of Austin; daughter, Cindy Dillaman and husband Gordon Dillaman of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Andrea Cobbs of Austin, Bruce Cobbs of Belton, Ashlee Dillaman of Waco, and Dustin Dillaman and wife Kelly of Weatherford; great-grandchildren Addison Dillaman and Reid Dillaman; brother Billy Jim Cobbs and wife Linda of Robinson; sister Ione Roberts and husband John of Groesbeck. Pall bearers will be Bruce Cobbs, Gordon Dillaman, Dustin Dillaman, Jimmy Cobbs, Andy Frank, and Brad Craig.
