Jimmie Dean Harris

Jimmie Dean Harris passed away on April 3, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 81. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2025 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Reverend Shane Norcross officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Freestone County.

Jimmie was born in Waxahachie, Texas to Keniard and Sue (Pratt) Harris. He proudly served his country by serving four years in the US Navy in addition to retiring, after 20 years of service with the Army National Guard. Jimmie retired from the TDCJ with 26 years of service as an Assistant Livestock and Poultry Manager.

Jimmie married Lloydette Abbott on December 4, 1965 and they were blessed with over 59 wonderful years together. There was nothing he was prouder of than his and Lloydette’s two daughters, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He enjoyed many things in life, but his happiest times were those shared with his family.

Jimmie enjoyed working in his yard and worked continuously trying to keep it looking as nice as possible. His other interests consisted of playing the guitar, harmonica, lottery, fishing, and he had an overall love for music in general.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Keniard and Sue Harris; and sister, Linda Waller.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Lloydette Harris; daughters, Jennifer Harris and Deana Harris; grandchildren, Cameron Levingston, Victoria Chapa, Elana Harris, Rendon Dean Crook, Kyle Chancelor; and great grandchildren, Aurora Garza, Camila Levingston, Athena Garza, Celine Levingston, Alexander Garza, and Amelia Garza.

Jimmie’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to his caregivers, Janice Jones and Pat Cox in addition to Rhonda Machac with General Transition Hospice, for the wonderful care given to him, as well as their support to the family.
