J. W. Cargile, 60, of Mexia passed away July 14, 2013 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Eddie Hayworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Wayne was born April 9, 1953 in Barstow, California to E.K. Cargile and Billie Jo Holmes Pollock. He had been a resident of Mexia for 37 years. Wayne married Sharon Bain on June 10, 1977 at the First Baptist Church in Mexia. He had been an employee of the Mexia State Supported Living Center Laundry Department for the past eight years. Wayne was devoted to God and his family; loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was always actively involved and very supportive of his children and grandchildren in their school activities or anything in which they were involved. He was a member of the Point Enterprise Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wayne is survived by his wife, Sharon Cargile of Mexia; children, Martin Wayne Cargile and wife, Ashley, April Michele Self and husband, Joe R. Self and Jeffrey Keith Cargile all of Mexia; grandchildren, Kevin Wayne and Jacob Andrew Ramirez and Aaden Mark and Kendall Brooke Cargile; brothers, Dean Cargile of Mexia, Gary Cargile of Mexia, Terry Cargile of Duncanville, Glen Cargile of North Richland Hills; sisters, Brenda Pettit of Wyoming, Diana Clark of California and Shirley Taylor of Eustace, TX; step-mother, Sandy Clark of California; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Casey Cargile, Justin Reed, Coby Sterling, Eric Shamblin, Cedric Smith, and Damien Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Cargile, Glen Cargile, Terry Cargile, Kevin Ramirez and Jacob Ramirez.
