JoAnn Whitley Hughes, 63, passed away March 23, 2015 at her home in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Bro. Jeff Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. JoAnn was born in Mexia, Texas on August 23, 1951 to Ivy Olin Whitley and Martha Beldin Whitley. She grew up in Mexia and attended Mexia ISD schools. JoAnn married James W. Hughes on January 20, 1975. She and James were owners and operators of Jim's Krispy Chicken for many years, prior to retirement. She loved her family and spending time with them. Her husband will always remember JoAnn as being a very special lady who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mark Whitley; son, Richard Hughes; and son-in-law, Brian Erkfitz. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 40 years, James W. Hughes; children, James L. Hughes and wife, Peggy, Steven Hughes and wife, Shara, Sherry Erkfitz and fiancé, Anthony Duron and Wesley Hughes and wife, Natalie; grandchildren, James E. Hughes and wife, Erin, Kim Nixon and husband, Danny, Blake Hughes, Ashley Hughes, Christiana Hughes, Cameron Erkfitz and Meagan Erkfitz; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers, Olen Whitley and wife, Betty and Randy Whitley; and sisters, Katherine Harris, Betty McCeig and Pauline Parson and husband, Leland. Pallbearers will be Blake Hughes, Cameron Erkfitz, Jeff McLemore, Justin Boldra, Cole Dunson and Julian Ruiz.
