Joe Lynn Haney, 78, of Teague passed away October 30, 2012 in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be 10AM, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Northcrest Church of Christ with Mr. Shane Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Freestone, County. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Friday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Joe was born September 3, 1934 in Mexia, Texas to Doyle M. and Mary Baker Haney. He was a longtime resident of the Mexia and Teague area. He received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at Texas A&M and Masters' degree in Civil Engineering at SMU. Joe was stationed in San Francisco, California while serving his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Corps of Engineer in Ft. Worth, County Engineer for Limestone County, Grant Coordinator for the EPA, Plant Engineer for U.S. Silica and City Inspector for the City of Teague. He loved spending time with family, serving God and working hard. Joe was a longtime member of the Northcrest Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaDane Haney; and sister, Evelyn Haney. Joe is survived by his wife, Marilyn S. Haney of Teague; two sons, Mark Haney and wife, Melissa of Lake Limestone and Scott Haney and wife, Leigh of Houston; daughter, Robyn Ellison and husband, Dennis of Normangee; two step-sons, Brian Rawls and wife, Larissa of Midlothian and Aubrey Rawls and wife, Patsy of Teague; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brian Rawls, Aubrey Rawls, Andrew Ellison, Daniel Ellison, Dennis Ellison and Ronnie Durrenberger.
