Jose Torres

Jose Federico Torres, 44, of Mexia, passed away April 11, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Deacon Dwight Mahoney officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Jose was born March 10, 1971 to Federico Torres and Maria Luisa Rodriguez in Piedras Negras Coah, Mexico. He married his loving wife, Maria Josefina Navarro, on June 17, 1992 in Mexia. Jose was a devoted husband, father, and brother; his family was his life. He was a kind man with a big heart and a friendly, outgoing personality. He was a handyman that could be called on by his neighbors, or anyone, at any time to help repair a car or anything else. Jose was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nora Amaya. Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Torres of Mexia; children, Roberto Torres, Jesse Torres, Natalie Torres, Freddy Axel Torres and Luis Navarro; one grandchild, Luis "L J" Navarro, Jr.; sisters, Dora M. Torres and Ana L. Torres; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Luis Navarro, Roberto Torres, Jesse Torres, Luis Garcia, Miguel Pena and Richard Torres. Juan Sanchez and Freddy Axel Torres will serve as honorary pallbearers.
