Jose Maria Villatoro was born October 19, 1958 in Tulima, La Union, El Salvador. He fell asleep in death June 4, 2018. He was the son of Jose Maria Villatoro Vanegas and Juana Elvira Ventura de Villatoro. In 1979, Jose (Chemita), as he was affectionately called, emigrated to Texas. He was motivated by bible truths to symbolize his dedication to Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 14, 1987. Soon, thereafter, he made the full-time ministry his lifelong career, serving twenty-four (24) years as a regular pioneer, eighteen (18) of those as an elder in the congregation. Although he enjoyed all facets of his service to Jehovah, speaking to others about the bible truths, he discovered through his own study of the bible, was his favorite part. In 1994, Chemita married Donie Holland promising to dance every day, laugh and pioneer together and that's what they did. Together they served in different areas, teaching bible truths and enjoying each other's company. They were humbled with the greatest privilege when in 2013, Caleb John and Sofia Veronica permanently made their small family grow to four. Chemita was known for his outgoing personality. He loved joking and playing but was a man of deep faith and conviction in the bible's future promises of a world without sickness, death or tears. With that promise in mind, he was able to bravely endure a lengthy illness knowing that Jehovah, the God of all Comfort, accomplishes all that he sets out to do. Chemita is survived by his mother, Juana Elvira Ventura de Villatoro; wife, Donie Holland Villatoro; children, Sofia and Caleb Villatoro; four brothers, Dimas Napoleon Villatoro, Edwin Giovanni Villatoro, Mario Angel Villatoro and Jose Alcides Villatoro; eight sisters, Reina del Carmen Villagran, Maria Tiburcia Najera, Juana Haydee Villatoro, Digma Antonio Reyes, Luz Esperanza Gaitan, Milagro De La Paz Recinos, Rosa Delmis Villatoro and Flor Maria Villatoro; uncle, Antonio Sorto; aunt, Teofila Herrera de Ventura; 18 nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephew; and many cousins, along with numerous friends who he considered close family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall in Mexia. Edward Arostegui, Judah Ben Gonzalez and Sascha Bode will officiate in the services. Pallbearers will be Jose Recinos, Mario Villatoro, Rafael Ramirez, Rudy O. Gaitan, Caleb Villatoro and Frank Andrade.
