Julia Duke

Julia Ann Gross Parrish Duke, 75, of Tehuacana, passed away April 10, 2013 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Tehuacana with Rev. Dale McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in the Tehuacana Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home and from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Tehuacana. Ann was born February 22, 1938 in Rockdale, Texas to Oscar and Zadie Walker Gross. She dedicated her life to God, her family and educating many children. She retired from Malone ISD after completing a career of 50 years as a Teacher/Counselor. Ann loved to travel, especially with her daughters, loved to spoil her grandson and was a big fan of the Astros. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Tehuacana, DAR and the Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Jacob Arthur Gross and Mildred Gross. Ann is survived by her husband, Billy Duke of Tehuacana; daughters, Pamela Parrish Podraza and husband, Bill of Montgomery and Robyn Parrish Carlson and husband, Richard of Seabrook; grandson, Jacob Richard "Jake" Carlson of Seabrook; brothers, Charles Gross and wife, Lindy of Ohio and William C. Gross and wife, Barbara of Rockdale; and sister, Marie Gross Storey. Pallbearers will be Bill Podraza, Richard Carlson, Dave Duke, Donny Morrow, William C. Gross and Lee Story. We love you Mom, you will be in our hearts forever and always. May you rest in peace.
