Julia Hamilton

Julia Faye Hamilton, 76, of Mexia, passed away December 31, 2013 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Niedecken officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church. Julia Faye was born October 28, 1937 in Longview, Texas to Harold L. and Bertha J. Blanchard Hamilton. She received her Master's Degree from Baylor University. Julia taught in the Mexia ISD for over 35 years. Although she never had any children of her own, she loved her students as if they were her own and they loved her. She also loved to paint and taught classes in painting. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Julia Faye is survived by a host of friends, church family and students. Pallbearers will be Bobby Jack Liles, Arthur Nutt, Buddy Williford, Bob Crider and James Dawley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 203 N. Canton, Mexia, Texas.
