Kate was born in Groesbeck, Texas to James Marvin and Linnie Maud (Phillips) Freeman. She and her husband, Wiley Lee Moore, were blessed with three children, Tracy, Rodney and Wiley Phillip. After their children were born, they moved to Dallas and, in addition to being a homemaker, she drove a van for the Senior Citizen Center for 17 years.
Kate eventually moved to Ben Wheeler where she became an active member of Cana Baptist Church. She loved her church and made every attempt to be there as often as possible. The most important things in Kate’s life were serving the Lord and taking care of her family; she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed, and was very good at crocheting, sewing and quilting. When Kate had some free time, you may find her on a lake, river or wherever there was a fishing hole, as she loved to fish.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Linnie Freeman; husband, Wiley Moore; sons, Rodney Ray Moore and Wiley Phillip Moore; brother, Cecil Freeman; sisters, Coreta Watson and Bess King.
Kate is survived by her loving daughter, Tracy Moore of Ben Wheeler; granddaughter, Kellie Stoner; daughter-in-law, Pat Moore (wife of Rodney); step-grandchildren, Jennifer Rodriguez and B.J. and Tracie Mosley and Alex and families; brothers, Aubrey Freeman of Garland and Archie Freeman of Bonham; sister, LaVelle Olexa and Kenny Greenfield of Atlanta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
