Kenneth Wayne "Ken" Bess

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Ken Bess, loving husband and father, passed away in Mexia, Texas at the age of 66.

Kenneth Wayne Bess was born on September 24, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Leroy Bess, Jr. and Elizabeth Bess.  He worked in offshore construction all his adult life.

Ken loved his family, including the offshore workers; he considered them as his extended family.   He loved riding motorcycles, camping, and blues music.  Ken was known, and loved, for his kindness, great sense of humor, and beautiful smile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Bess Jr.; mother, Elizabeth Johnson; stepfather, James Johnson; sister, Debbie, whom he loved dearly.

Ken is survived by his wife, Christy; daughter, Bridgett Bess (Bryon Cole) and grandson, Tanner Cole of Arizona; daughter, Courtney; stepdaughter, Renee; stepsons, Danny Beldin and Brian Beldin; sister, Ginger Mann and husband, Billy of Magnolia, TX; several grandchildren; nephew, Kris Mann and wife, Tawnya; niece, Heather Gillette and husband, Geoffrey of Tomball, TX; and many great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
