Kenneth Ray Reed, 84, of Farrar passed away June 16, 2010 in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010 at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Richard Easterling officiating. Kenneth was born June 11, 1926 in Thiefneck, Texas to Harvey Lee and Icie Mae (Chandler) Reed. He graduated from Farrar High School and received a Masters Degree from Sam Houston State University. He served his country during World War II in the U. S. Air Force. Kenneth was a Chief Chemist for Phillips 66 for many years. In 1976, he moved back to Farrar. He treasured spending time with his family, especially, his grandson. He looked forward to helping Dayne with his math homework, watching him play football or anything else that allowed him the opportunity to spend precious time with him. Kenneth's favorite football team was The Houston Oilers, later it became the Houston Texans. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Iva Jasmine(McClure) Reed; and a brother and sister-in-law, Hollie and Ruth Reed. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Hazel Dudley and husband, Curtis Ray of Farrar; grandson, Dayne Michael Dudley of Farrar; and two brothers, Dwane Reed and wife, Florene of Pasadena and Harold Reed and wife, Mary of Houston.
