Lauren Green

LAUREN ADRIENNE GREEN Lauren entered our lives on April 26, 1986. With her very first breath she brought joy, pride and love to her parents, that they could never have imagined before that moment. On November 12, 2007 at the tender age of 21, Lauren left her earthly home after a year-long battle with leukemia. It was a tough road but one that she never gave in to. Lauren was always positive and had a smile on her face, even when she was feeling bad. She continued to take online classes through Tarleton just to be a part. Every semester she made plans to return. Lauren attended school in Mexia and graduated in 2004 in the top 10%. She was a member of the National Honor Society. Lauren received many honors while in high school. She was color guard captain for three years. She was lovingly referred to as "Captain Strict" and went to State solo and ensemble four years. During her junior high years, she received many top honors at the Regional Science and went to State one year. In 2004 Lauren began her journey at Tarleton State University. This would be a journey of learning and friendships. She was a member of the Tarleton State Band, called the Sound and the Fury. She was a member of the colorguard and was to be captain this fall. She made many friends in the band and loved them all. The best time of her short life were spent in Stephenville. She was a member of Tau Beta Sigma, Alpha Zeta and Collegiate FFA. Lauren had many hobbies. She loved to scrapbook and mod-pogde things. Her favorite pastime was riding her horse, Turbo and her being with her dog, Ranger. She loved her red Dodge truck with all the stickers on the back. Lauren loved to go muddin', fishin' and being outdoors in general. During the summer and vacations, Lauren worked at Tractor Supply and made some close friends. She loved talking to the "old farmers" and wanted to help them in any way possible. She was loved by many of her customers. Survivors include her parents, Richard and Robin Green of Mexia, Grandfathers: Alvin Green of Coolidge and C.A. Melcher of Mexia; aunt, Sharon G. Riendfliesch; cousins, Meagan Green, Jacob Moore and Jordan Moore of Reisel. Also surviving is a very special aunt, Patsy Copeland of Mexia; cousins, Mike and Patti Whittington, Garrett Whittington, and Clayton Whittington. She leaves behind a host of other relatives. Also left to cherish many wonderful memories is Lauren's roommate and BFF, Meghan McCoy and special roommate, Ashley Viator. Another special friend is Kelly Robinson. Special memories are shared by her sisters of Tau Beta Sigma and the brothers of Kappa Kappa Si. Services for Lauren will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Mexia with graveside following immediately after in the Mexia Cemetery.
