Lavern R. "Jack" Mowell, 83, passed away February 4, 2016 in Mexia. He was born on January 2, 1933 in Myrtle, South Dakota to Lavern and Helen Mason Mowell. He retired from Pharmacy Plus in Mexia after five years of service as a Pharmacist and a lifetime career of over 50 years in the Pharmaceutical profession. Lavern married Edythe Bachman on May 11, 1978 in South Dakota. Together, they enjoyed traveling and touring different places; they loved the coast of Galveston. However, there was nothing he enjoyed more than being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Vera, Iris and Ina. Lavern is survived by his wife, Edythe Mowell of Mexia; children, Rick Mowell and wife, Sherry of Spearfish, SD and Deb Delbridge and husband, Harold of Milesville, SD; step-sons, Tim McGinnis of Nevada, Monty McGinnis of Nevada and Jason McGinnis of Mexia; grandchildren, Sean, Jaeson, Christal, Carisa and Cody ; and nephew, Tom Looby. No date has been set for a memorial service at this time.
