Lee Smith

Funeral services for Lee Benjamin Smith, 86 of Mexia were held at 3 p.m. on Monday October 17, 2005 in First Assembly of God Church, Mexia. Rev. James Howard and Rev. Robert Smith, grandson, officiated with interment following in Mexia Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born July 31, 1919 in Coolidvge, Texas and passed away in the local Hospital on October 14. He was a textile worker and also worked for the City of Mexia; A longtime Mexia resident. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Cox and Marilyn Meazell , both of Mexia; Daughters and sons in law: Betty and Mike Sterling of Millican and Vicki and James Ward of Waco; Son, Billy Smith of Mexia and Son and daughter in law, Edward and Jayne Smith of Mexia; 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 10 great great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Belle Smith in 2000 and by two brothers And a sister.
