On December 22, 1939, she married the love of her life and lifelong partner, Alfred Maurice McElroy. They were blessed with two children, Stella E. and James "Jim". Marie loved nothing more than taking care of her family, especially cooking for them. Marie loved the Lord and serving Him; she was as a longtime member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be truly missed here on earth; however, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now in her eternal home with her other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 70 years, Alfred; brothers, Russell and Alvis Richardson; and sister, Leda Dale Richardson Parsons. Marie is survived by her daughter, Stella Elaine McElroy Bounds of Dallas; son, James R. "Jim" and wife, Carolyn E. McElroy of Shiloh; grandchildren, Rene Havard, Stephen Morton, Gary Morton and Georgia Shelby; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
