Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Kay Smith, 58 of Hewitt, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. Rev. Harold Mathena and Rev. James Hardison will officiate with graveside services at 4 p.m. in Bogata Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at Blair Stubbs Funeral Home in Teague. Mrs. Smith was born December 23, 1947 in Deport, Texas and passed away at her residence on July 2, 2006. She retired from Mexia State School and was a member of The Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. She is survived by her husband, Earnest Smith, her parents, Wiley and Wava Brown Mathena, children: David Smith and wife, Ann of LaPorte, Texas; Rebecca Korn and Husband, Scott of Hewitt and Stephen Smith of Hewitt; Grandchildren, Laynie Korn and Joseph Smith; brother Michael Mathena of Richmond, Texas. Pallbearers are John Lee Smith, Skipper Cothran, James Hardison, Don Shelby, Richard Bowels, Wayne Harleson, Jason Robbins and Martin McKee.
