Linda Ann Ward

On Thursday, December 14, 2023, Linda Ann Charpiot Ward let go of this earthly home and was carried from here to her new home in Heaven.  Linda was born on March 26, 1944 in Beaumont, Texas; she was 79 years young.  Her current residence was in Teague, Texas, where she had lived for over 50 years. 

Linda’s love for the Lord was exemplified by the way she lived her life; she was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Hampshire, Texas at the age of 10.  Linda was a giving person, helping many who were in need.  She loved her family.  Linda enjoyed life and made friends wherever she went, and she went just about everywhere in her RV.  Her favorite things to do involved her church family, Cedar Creek Baptist Church, and her beach friends, which she considered her second family.  Linda also loved animals, especially her three dogs – Tuffy, BB, and Quigley and her cat – Mrs. Murphy.  She also enjoyed fishing…taking her golf cart down to the pond and watching corks disappear.  

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth Cox and Wiley Ward; mother, Marie Charpiot; father, Arnold Brantley Charpiot; and brother, David Charpiot (whom she dearly loved).

Linda is survived by her son, Joe Bill Reid and wife, Tammy; granddaughters, Ashley Smith and husband, Erik, Lydia Amanda Baldwin and husband, Tyler; great grandchildren, Dylan, Mason and Audrey Smith and Reid and Reesie Baldwin; close friend, Loretta Charpiot; nephews, Garland Charpiot, Brant Charpiot, and Kelly Chariot; her beloved Aunt Joyce; and cousin, Linda Ann Marie.  She is also survived by her beach family – Delisa Allen, Linda Babino, Jimmy and Dode Jones, Wayne Wright, Pat and Pepe Phefferkorn, Rose Collins, and Kendel Phefferkorn; and many other friends, too numerous to name them all.

Linda was a true Christian who made a difference in many lives here on earth; she will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her. 

Funeral services will be 1:00 p. m., Monday, December 18, 2023 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Varetto, Joe Bill Reid, and Pastor Walter Pickens officiating.  Visitation with the family will be prior to service beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.  Garland Charpiot, Brant Charpiot, Jimmy Dale, Erik Smith, Tyler Baldwin, and Joe Reid will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Wright, J. C. Allen, and Ricky Allen.
