Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Mae Dean (affectionally known as Grandma), 94 of Coolidge will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008. in Blair - Stubbs Chapel in Mexia. Rev. Larry Holden will officiate with interment to follow in the Coolidge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home. Mrs. Dean was born August 31, 1913 in Kaufman County to Walter R. and Maggie (Moss) Dobbs and passed away on March 2, 2008 in the Mexia Hospital. She was a longtime employee of Texas Instruments in Dallas and a cashier at Village Drive In for almost 20 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Dean, Sr. in 1999 and by her son, Elmer L. Dean, Jr. in 1997. She is survived by her children: Donald Dean and wife, Ana of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pat Newsom, Jerry Dean, Harold Dean and Linda Hill, all of Coolidge and Janice Hardy of Hubbard, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, sister, Louise Faust of Mexia and brother, Ray Dobbs of Tyler. Pallbearers will be James (Bo) Ingram, Jr., David Newsom, Lloyd Dobbs, Ian Newsom, Barry Hardy, and Steve Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan and Austin Hardy. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Parkview Regional Hospital Staff for their excellent care. Goodbye, Grandma. We love you and will always miss you.
