Lois Willett

Lois Hope Owens Willett, 76, of Mexia passed away March 16, 2012 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 11AM, Monday, March 19, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Mexia with Rev. Brad Brittain and Rev. Kory Koch officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Lois was born February 26, 1936 in Mexia, Texas to Guy Leslie and Ila B. Stephens Owens. She married Jerry Glenn Willett on July 31, 1954 in Mexia. She received her Bachelor Degree from Texas Tech University. Lois taught in the Austin ISD for over 30 years. After retiring, they moved back to Mexia. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 51 years, Jerry. Lois is survived by her children, Robert Jeffery Willett and Glenda Leigh Willett of Mexia; grandchildren, Tabitha Marie Brooks, Joshua Duane Willett, Kortney Christine Kelsey and Amanda Hope Willett; great-granddaughter, Haylie Marie Brooks; brother, Joe Owens of Cypress; sister, Margaret Williams of Mexia. Memorials may be to the Kidney Foundation or charity of cholce.
