Loretta Mae Bolton, 76, of Mexia, passed away April 12, 2013 in Mexia, Texas. Funeral services will be 10AM, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton, Texas with Pastor Jared Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Thornton Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 8:30 - 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. Loretta was born December 19, 1936 in Amber, Oklahoma to Willoby and Verda Duncan. She retired from the Mexia State School after 20 years of service as a supervisor. She was a great cook who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Loretta's love for God, her son and family was evident in the way she lived her life. She was a devoted and loving mother. Loretta was a very active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Thornton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willoby and Verda Duncan; husband, Gordon Bolton; and siblings, Ima Joyce, Deenie and Lane. Loretta is survived by her loving son, Rodney Bolton; brother, Dale Duncan and wife, Clara; seven nieces and nephews; and ten great-nieces and nephews.
