Louella Sunday

Louella Maud "Maudie" Sunday, 91, of Mexia passed away September 30, 2011 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 4:30PM, Sunday, October 2, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 3-5PM, Saturday, at the funeral home. Maudie was born October 3, 1919 in Limestone County, Texas. She had lived in Limestone County all of her life. She married Reuben Earl Sunday on August 20, 1936. Maudie was a lady of many talents and loved by all who knew her. She was writer, entrepreneur, volunteer and master gardener. Her love for God, her family and community were very evident in her life; always giving unselfishly to others. She was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband. Maudie is survived by three sons, Michael Earl, Reuben Gerry and Jackie Logan Sunday; and three grandchildren, Tiffany Ann Sunday, Debbie Sunday Eastland and John Reuben Sunday. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 500 E. Carthage, Mexia, Texas. A more complete obituary will be forthcoming.
