Louise Elizabeth Reed, 87, of Mexia passed away April 22, 2012 in Fairfield. Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Mr. Richard Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakes Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Louise was born July 14, 1924 in the LaSalle Community near Groesbeck, Texas to Davis Coe and Florence Anna Burleson Goodrich. She graduated from Groesbeck High School and received an associate degree from Westminister College in Tehuacana. She married W.C. "Cy" Reed on September 4, 1946 in Fair Oakes, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Mexia in 1997. Louise worked at McBay Elementary School as a Teacher's Aide for many years. Her life was devoted to her love for God and her family. Louise loved to cook and her family says she was the best cook ever. She was a member of the Northcrest Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Cy; grandson, Brady Reed; sisters, Vera Stewart and Hazel Oakes; and brothers, Homer Goodrich and Chesley Goodrich. Louise is survived by her daughter, Diana Lewis and husband, J.B. of Fairfield; sons, Barry Reed and wife, Terri of Mexia and Scott Reed of Donie; grandchildren, Cody Stone and wife, Shawnda, Kyle Stone and wife, Melanie, Kasey Commander and husband, Chad, Blake Reed and wife, Nicole, Ashley Wilson and husband, Anson and Jarrod Reed; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Beth Stewart of Groesbeck and Rhoda Dotson of Pasadena.
