Luanna Heussner Neighbors

Luanna Heussner Neighbors, of Waco, passed away on February 10, 2023 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 78.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Prairie Hill Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery.

Luanna was born March 6, 1944 in Waco, Texas to George and Mildred (Barnes) Heussner.  She lived in the Dallas area for most of her life.  She married Albert Carl Neighbors in 1968; they were blessed with three children, Tammy, Lisa, and Steven.  Luanna’s most important job was taking care of her family, being a devoted wife and raising her children.  Being a grandmother and great grandmother was the highlight of her life, she cherished each and every one of them.

Luanna was very organized, and she liked to stay busy.  She had a great sense of humor, loved gospel music, as well as remodeling and redecorating their home.  She was also very creative, if she came across something that needed fixing, someway, she always managed to find a way to make it work.  Luanna was an excellent cook and she enjoyed planning parties and entertaining family and friends.  She liked to collect clocks, windchimes, lamps, and numerous other items; anything she truly liked, she was going to have many of those items.  Whenever possible, she enjoyed spending some quiet time working jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; George and Mildred Heussner; husband, Albert Neighbors;  son, Steven Neighbors; son-in-law, Paul White; and brother-in-law, Bruce Jordan.

Luanna is survived by her daughters, Tammy Nicks and husband, Jody and Lisa White; grandchildren, Ashley Neighbors, Clayton Nicks, Gram White, and Lucas White; great grandchildren, Jayden Woolfolk, Eli Mooney, and Riley Sutton; sister, Linda Jordan; brother, George Karl Heussner and wife, Joann; and stepdaughter, Freda Laporte and husband, Joe and children Jeff and Justin.

There will be a luncheon following the service.
