Lula Frances Harris, 86, of Teague passed away November 17, 2012 in Mexia, Texas. Funeral services will be 10AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague with Rev. Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Frances was born March 12, 1926 in Mexia, Texas to Ernest "Hoot" and Lula Florence Bates Gibson. She graduated from Mexia High School. She grew up and lived in the Mexia oil fields until she married Charles Harris on July 8, 1945. They moved to Angleton in 1951 and moved back to Teague in December 1967, where they made their home. Frances retired from Sears, in Mexia, after 23 years of service. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge of I00F for 40 years where she served two terms as Noble Grand and two terms as State Representative. She was a longtime member of the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Harris; daughter, Linda Lou Laughlin; son, Joel Wayne Harris; sister, Ernestine Goodman and sister and brother-in-law, Nadine and Ocie Lee Winn. Frances is survived by her son, Charles P. Harris, Jr. and wife, Phyliss of Danbury, TX; four grandsons, Scott Harris, Trampas Harris and wife, Janna, Brian Harris and Robert McKnight and wife, Vanny; four granddaughters, Kelly Long, Connie Hoyt and husband, Terry, Lea Anne Delcambre and Jennifer Harris; sister, Ruby Krueger of Hewitt; 11 nieces and nephews and families. Pallbearers will be Scott Harris, Trampas Harris, Brian Harris, Gary Harris, Terry Hoyt and Bobby Pugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Elliot Dehmer, Dillyon Hoyt and Chandler Harris. Memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the Arthritis Foundation.
