Madalyn Hearon Haas, 89, of Mexia passed away December 22, 2010 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with her grandson, Rev. Brent Tucker, officiating. Interment will follow in the Cotton Gin Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 2-3 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service. Madalyn was born January 11, 1921 at Cotton Gin, Texas to U. J. and Stella (Sims) Hearon. She worked for the Dallas Times Hearld, as well as several other newspapers, in advertising sales. She was known for being an excellent sales lady. Madalyn was an accomplished pianist. She played for a number of groups in the Mexia area, including The Troubadours ("Boob" Little, Travis Archer and others). Her love for the Lord and her family was evident in her life. Madalyn was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Andrew McKinney and Ken Haas; daughter, Donna M. Tucker; brothers, Mack and Duane Hearon; and sister, Virginia McKinney. Madalyn is survived by her son, Gary McKinney and wife, Sue of Mexia; grandchildren, Julie McKinney Paris and husband, Drake of Mexia, Carl Andrew McKinney and wife, Susan of Midlothian, Dennis Tucker of Mabank, Rev. Brent Tucker and wife, Kim of Mabank; five great-grandchildren; brother, Heard Hearon; son-in-law, Kenneth R. Tucker of Ft. Worth; and a number of nieces and nephews.
