Maggie Bruce

Funeral services for Maggie Viola Bruce, 94 of Mexia will be Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Rev. Tom Prentiss will officiate with interment to follow in the Boardtree Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Mrs. Bruce was born September 29, 1913 to Daniel B. Sawyer and Drucilla Caroline Bollman in Dawson. She passed away June 3, 2008 in Waco. Mrs. Bruce lived most of her life in the Mexia area and retired from the Mexia State School after many years of service. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Bruce is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Dannie J. Bruce and wife, Nelda and Billy E. Bruce and wife, Norma all of Weatherford; grandchildren, James Thomas Bruce of Weatherford and Dannie Bruce, Jr. of Aledo; great-grandchildren, Keelie, Cody, Colt and Kelsie Bruce. Pallbearers will be Dannie Bruce, Jr., James Thomas Bruce, Cody Bruce, Colt Bruce, Phillip Brown and Robert Miles.
