Mandville Lide, Jr.

Funeral services for Mandville Lide, Jr., 77, of Cotton Gin will be Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Northcrest Church of Christ in Mexia. Mr. Bobby Lide and Mr. Chuck Durham will officiate with interment to follow in the Cotton Gin Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Mr. Lide was born to Cornelius Mandville and Cynthia (Tomlin) Lide on January 21, 1931 in Wortham. He passed away at his home on July 7, 2008. Mr. Lide was a longtime businessman in the Mexia/Cotton Gin area, having owned and operated Lide Tank Co. for many years. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Hawkins) Lide, children: Vicki Smith and husband, Andre of Mexia, Bobby Lide and wife, Deana of Mexia and Billy Lide and wife, Tammy of Fairfield; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Pallbearers will be Randy Ratliff, Jody Day, Justin Day, Jared Lide, Rusty Lide, Ricky Lide and Christopher Lide. Honorary Pallbearers will be Evan Dean Lemon, R. L. Hawkins, Luther Hendrick, Sonny Cox, Harold Fisher, Andre Smith and Danny Sessums. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice or Waco Alzheimers.
