She grew up in Mexia and graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1959. After retiring from the Texas Department of Human Service Real Estate Division in Austin, she returned to Mexia to make her home. Margaret's life revolved around her love for dogs. She raised, trained and showed German Shepards and Corgis throughout the United States. She belonged to numerous dog clubs where she served as an executive officer and dog show judge. Presently, Margaret had one love of her life, Abby, who she considered her "child". Due to her health issues and concern for Abby's happiness, she found her a loving home with a local family, giving her the peace she needed before entering her heavenly home. Margaret considered her Class of '59 classmates as family, a feeling that was mutual. She loved them and knew, if she needed anything, they were just a phone call away. Margaret also loved to travel. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Susan Bleakney.
