Margaret Shearon

Margaret Lorene Shearon, 92, of Mexia passed away January 11, 2012 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 10AM, Friday, January 13, 2012 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Marc Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Margaret was born October 3, 1919 in Gainesville, Texas to Robert and Nora Huey Lemons. She moved to Mexia almost 20 years ago. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and Fidelis Class. She also played in the church's Ageless Symphony Band, a number of years ago. Margaret was a champion 42 player and enjoyed square dancing. She lived her life for God and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, William D. Shearon; and her siblings. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Judy Batts and husband, David of Tehuacana; grandchildren, Todd Boyd of Mexia, Jamie Boyd of Teague, Paul Boyd of Mexia; Eric Batts of Teague, Pep Batts of Wortham and Hillary Chandler of Teague; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Pallbearers will be Todd Boyd, Jamie Boyd, Paul Boyd, David Batts, Eric Batts, Chandler Boyd and Pep Batts. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 500 E. Carthage, Mexia, Texas.
